Calm in the Keys

Teaching science in Key West brought me to explore Florida's brilliant coral reef. Exploring the warm water of the Florida Keys lent a calming peace each day after work. My colleagues at the Island's middle school knew I would venture out for a calming swim among the fluorescent fish, gentle nurse sharks, rock lobsters, and the occasional loggerhead sea turtle that would surface for a fresh breath of air. The coral reef became my home away from home and office.
