“If you are good to the earth, it can be very good back”.The best example of this is composting. One of the fundamental building blocks of organic gardening is building a compost. Adding compost to your garden soil enriches it and provides nutrients the organic way. Additionally, moisture is retarded, landfill strain is reduced. Ten unusual examples of items you can add to a compost are:(1) Jello:(2) icecream; (3) Milk, yogurt, soy mild, in small amounts; (4) pet fur, feathers, claw clippings and droppings can all be composted. You can compost your own hair and nail clippings too; (5) Cat litter can also be composted. When walking dogs, look for biodegradable bags; (6) Elmer’s glue; (7) Macaroni & Cheese, discarded food; (8) Insects; (9) Dust bunnies and vacuum bins can be emptied directly into the compost bin;(10) Cheeses, moldy foods are prime candidates for the compost bin. Not only is it important that we give back to the earth, it is equally important to pass this concept on to others. Encourage everyone you meet to give back to the earth the riches that it gives to you. This is the ultimate way to pass on “living in the &”.
