The No-Throw Lunch

Green & Black's fine organic chocolates are my family's favorite treats. We taste your bars together, check the finish and flavors of your confections and enjoy the fact that something so delicious is good for us.. We live a consciously green lifestyle by planting an organic vegetable garden together each summer and purchasing local organic produce year-round. My husband and I involve our 10 and 11 year-olds in our "re-cycle, re-purpose re-use" mantra. One way we do this is by packing a "No-Throw" lunch each day for our kids. This means a lunchbox and re-usable water bottle instead of a paper bag and bottled water. It also includes a Cloth Napkin, Real silverware, and re-usable containers filled with sandwiches, dips and Chocolate goodies!! When we first asked our kids to "go green" at lunch they were reluctant since their peers did not. Therefore, I put a piece of Green & Black's chocolate or a brownie made with Green & Black's chocolate in their lunch box. This was my way of saying "thanks" for doing something good for the earth and themselves. Now our Principal is committed to a "No-Throw" lunch for the whole 500 student elementary school this spring. Imagine the ripple effect this will have in the community! Maybe my children and I will bake enough brownies to give each child a Green & Black's brownie at lunch on that special "Live in the &" Day!!!
