G&B VELVET ORANGE & ALMOND

The sweet orange flavour is surprisingly fresh tasting, due to the natural acidity, bitterness and astringency of the chocolate, which is similar to that found in orange zest. Therefore the flavour appears quite zesty, which is a nice balance to the sweet and creamy chocolate. The almond pieces are not particularly roasted for the bar, meaning they offer more of a creamy character than anything else. This bar reminds me of those Spanish/Seville orange and almond cakes (Nigella has a popular recipe).
